Inline Lever/Lever

The handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed from robust materials, and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and operate off the same spindle and screw fixings. They are easily installed on existing or new uPVC/Composite doors.

The spring lever design allows the handle to be placed and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, which helps to ensure the quality of the finish tilt and turn window handles performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can also be shortened to fit a wider range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shortened lever can also be used for doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles on doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are commonly used on UPVC doors with double glazed window handle glazing. They come in a range of finishes and variations.

The handles have been tested to at least 200k cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle a high performance and durability for its intended use.

All UPVC levers for handles include a spindle and screws and can be installed on the uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a wider size handle that can be beneficial in replacing a defective or worn multi point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.

When choosing a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is also called 'handle centres or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.

Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They are typically square or round with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when they are not in use, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts from entering the building. You will also find that the majority of UPVC handle lever pad style handles are handed that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. The cylinder lock is operated by a key which unlocks the cylinder's case. This reveals pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is vitally important; this depends on how your door and handle are used. For instance, doors that are external require an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can improve security, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder should be properly measured to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can remove it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as lock snapping, so it is essential that it's not too long.

Most modern cylinders are made with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. These features are designed to minimize the risk of attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This can to deflect an attack and protect your door.

There are also cylinders that are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the lock's break line and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening the conservatory door handles with a multipoint lock and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated in the base plate of the door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to help return your multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. There was a time when handles didn't have a spring built into them and without this they are more likely to slide or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is removed. This component is the best way to fix this problem. It also prevents your door from getting stuck in either the closed or open position, as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed for use with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with multipoint handles that are not sprung and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are sold as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes are a great value solution to the problem of door handles that have become sagging. They are simple to install and can extend the lifespan of your uPVC door.
