It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competitors. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or during the night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would think from its price. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.
