What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a brand new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager costs 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no other benefit to the game, aside from making it easier to buy upgrades.

Increases the effectiveness of

Certain of these boosts may only be used in specific designs (such a Whistan's Shield for FB Sorcs) Some are valuable to collectors.

Some items have an inherent boo that is less useful when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap which gives more slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to inject more value into a perfect or near-perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades are accompanied by certain costs associated with them. The most significant cost is the upgrade itself. This cost can be expensive and is dependent on the new value of the item and the number perks it gains. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The second is the cost of the items required for an upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and over) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The quantity of these items required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

Upgrades to an item are an intricate process that takes time. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it could take up to 8 hours. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other properties. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In certain cases the upgrade will provide additional benefits that can be chosen from a list of perks.

In rare cases, the upgrade will only replace the most expensive perks. A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version can be used to boost the chances of a successful upgrade. This item is beneficial if you have a weapon or piece of gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next tier without the risk of breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful, it will be reverted to its initial state. This is often a downgrade, but could also be an upgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you are nearing the maximum level of an item.
