WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade (Related Home Page) upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item upgrader used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other items. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
