Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that are required including emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the best robot hoover passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
