World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all of its leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It is also used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to the lower levels). The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's capable of causing. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the level of the item.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values and gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, as the level of the area the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an Best item upgrader by the player and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items, the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in the early game, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
