World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure what will be improved after the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Utilizing the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different amount of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item upgrader can be more expensive even if you don't require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by 10 points. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item upgrader kit fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade item an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
