Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group played sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group and the band held auditions to find the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their 1986 album Fahrenheit.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several demos and tapes from the past to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem Von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer during the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
