Ambrosia is a mystical ingredient that the Greek gods ate or drank. It was believed to confer immortality on whoever consumed it. It was also used to disguise unpleasant smells. For instance in the epic poem Odyssey, when Menelaus and his army were disguised in seal skins, a goddess bearing ambrosia ascended from heaven to overpower the deadly smell.

Ambrosia was a special food only available to the Olympian gods, and it was often used in rituals to symbolize the line between death and Oscar Reys immortality. It also represented an emblem of divine perfection as illustrated in the myth of Achilles who was given ambrosia oil by his mother Thetis to make him immortal. Some gods have special Keepsakes however, you must visit their respective shops in the Underworld. Charon offers a unique location in the Rift of Thessaly. Hecate is god that will give you a Keepsake when you give her Nectar to the city of Thebes. However hers isn't easy to acquire since she only appears during battle above ground.

Hecate's Keepsake For Oscarreys instance, it allows players to automatically restore some of their magick each night, until a certain amount determined by Keepsake Rank. It also reduces the amount of front damage that the player suffers and does slightly more damage when attacking from behind.

In addition to the gods themselves, Hades offers a number of other characters for whom you can establish relationships (purely platonic, sorry). Gifting them bottles of Nectar can sometimes grant them special abilities that will boost Zagreus in his quest to escape the Underworld. Those gifts are called Keepsakes and are one of the most important items in the game.

It's easy: each time you complete an encounter, your character could receive a Keepsake increase by up to three levels. When the Keepsake is at rank 3, it will unlock a new buff that can be applied to the following encounter. Some examples of these buffs are:
