The Eufy 11S is one of the cheapest self-emptying robot vacuums that are available. It efficiently sucked up dry oats from hard floors and carpets with low pile in our tests. Its dust bin is simple to open and empty -much easier than some other models in its price range.

It charges at its base and then resumes cleaning when it's clean. But its obstacle-avoidance technology gets tangled up in socks and cords and it's unable to operate under low thresholds.

1. iRobot 11S

The 11S is a cheaper self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner that many people seem to love. It is great at maneuvering under furniture and seems to be a great option for those with hard floors or those who want to perform light cleaning. The suction is less powerful than our top picks, however it's still able to do the job. It has a big dust bin as well as a long-lasting battery. The app lets you schedule daily cleanings or choose a specific room. You can also mark your home to allow the device to avoid areas you don't want it visit.

The app is easy to use and has a simple layout. It's not a full-featured app however, it's simple to use and lets you monitor your robot vacuum empty itself's status. It also has an informative tutorial that can guide you through the basics.

The cleaning pattern of Bounce Navigation isn't always rational. Sometimes it follows straight lines, and other times, it focuses on the edges of a space. However, it cleans your entire floor. It's not the best at climbing over obstacles. It was unable to get under our pet food bowls as well as pedals for the piano, and ended up getting stuck in our 2.25 inch shag carpet multiple times.

We believe there are better robot vacuums than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba 694 is more robust, easier to maintain, has lower ongoing costs, and takes less time to charge. It also has a bigger dustbin and is more effective on all surface types and is able to climb over low-lying obstructions (like electrical cords) more easily.

The eufy RoboVac11S is a different alternative for regular vacuuming. It's design is very similar to our top pick and it is great for picking up small particles and dirt on hard floors. It does a good job on carpets with medium or low pile. Similar to the iRobot Roomba, it comes with a large dirt compartment and uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also comes with an easy-to-use remote control to use and allows you to program daily cleanings using the app. Its battery lasts about an hour and the dustbin is able to be empty without taking it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a great robot vacuum and mop, with a wide range of automation features. The Roborock S7 MaxV comes in three models that include the basic S7 model as well as the S7 Plus model and the S7 Ultra. The latter model is the only one with an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its base following cleaning and empty the debris it has collected into a dust bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pad.

The S7's sensors work together to eliminate obstacles and clean floors. It can identify floor types and save a map for rooms and zones. It can even determine dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and carrying out spot cleaning sessions. It did well in standard tests, but couldn't match the iRobot Roomba j7+ for the carpet deep cleaning test.

With the companion app you can program the S7 to run a cleansing cycle based on your schedule. You can choose the cleaning mode that is eco or automatic, as well as the day, week or time. You can also choose whether the robot will stop if its power goes out or if it encounters an obstruction.

You can still use the S7 even if you don't own an Android phone by connecting a charging dock to a remote control. The controls are a bit confusing at first, but they work well after you've become accustomed to them. The power button also acts as an 'Cleaning' button and the Spot Clean button instructs the robot to clean an area around it. The 'Spot Clean" button also triggers the child lock.

Roborock's mobile app has been improved to include a live view feature that lets you see what the S7 does at home. 3. Shark IQ XL

Shark's robot vacuums aren't as a hit as those from iRobot or Roborock. But our hands-on tests have shown that this model is one of the most effective self-emptying vacuums available. It's easy to set up and has a large bin that can be easily emptied (albeit loudly) to a trashcan when it is full. It can also be programmed to clean the whole house on a set schedule.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi that lets you monitor it through the Shark app and see its battery status as it cleans. The app lets you create a cleaning schedule, receive push notifications about its status it is in, and the ability to pause and resume cleaning, or set it to a single room. You can also control it with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will inform you what the current power mode is which is Eco, Normal, or Maximum - but we found that none of these modes produced an obvious difference in cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the bin at the end of a cleaning cycle into the base, which will then automatically empty itself. The bin can hold up to 60 days of debris, so you don't need to empty it more than once unless your pets have long hair. If you must empty it, all you have to do is remove the side bin, put it up to a trash can, and press a button that will let you eject the contents.

The Shark IQ XL is a good vacuum cleaner. It does a good job of cleaning bare floors and can move well. However, the Shark IQ XL feels a slightly less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It does a good job in cleaning carpeted floors but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 when it comes to bare floor performance. The i7 is also built better and feels more durable. It is robust, has lower maintenance requirements, is able to charge lower monthly costs, and is faster to charge, and offers comparable battery performance and the most advanced automation features such as no-go zones and the ability to choose specific rooms for a clean.

4. iRobot J7+

This robotic mop and vacuum combination is a rare find that does both jobs well. The iRobot Combo J7+ comes with all the features of its j7-based counterpart, including LiDAR mapping and self-emptying, however, it also comes with additional features for vacuuming and mopping.

The new acoustic sensors assist the j7+ to identify flooring types, meaning it can decide between vacuuming and mopping when it first enters a room. This information can also be used to determine the best self cleaning robot vacuum and mop cleaning options for rooms with carpets and carpets versus rooms with hard flooring.

The J7+ is quieter than the majority of robotic vacuums when it's running and is even quieter when it's mopping. The maximum reading of 64db on our decibel scale is similar to office chatter.

It's easy to set a schedule for cleaning and change what the j7+ does when its dust bin is full. The j7+ can also be controlled by voice assistants, such as Alexa, Google Assistant and others. The app lets you create and view maps within your home.

The j7+ performed admirably in our tests on hard and carpeted floors, getting rid of most of the dirt that we threw at it. It struggles a bit with pet hair as well as large debris like sand, but it can remove these items with a bit of effort. It has excellent navigational skills and two cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.

We did find a couple of small niggles with the j7+, mainly that it could snag rugs and cords and that it doesn't always switch off its mopping when finished vacuuming. Overall, this is an excellent model that ticks all the right boxes.

iRobot's j7+ also has one of the best robot vacuum and mop self cleaning self emptying robot vacuums-emptying systems we've tested. It deposits its 14oz / 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it will automatically empty itself for you to. This helps to reduce the amount of trash you'll need to dispose of and you'll only have to replace the reusable dust disposal bag from the dock every 60 days or so, depending on how often you use the j7+.
